Also known as MOTHER’S MILK, Colostrum is a unique natural secretion produced at the beginning of lactation and designed by Nature to provide nutrition, growth factors and protection against disease to the newborn. Over the decades, it has been discovered that colostrum offers a wide spectrum of general health benefits for adults ranging from an enhancement of immunity to the improvement in physical fitness.

Immuron's scientists have now taken this many steps further by injecting cows with proprietary, Government approved, vaccines against human disease causing pathogens. Immuron's Hyper Immunized Colostrum is the only Australian / New Zealand product with a guaranteed minimum of > 35% of total immunoglobulin (IgG,) content.

There are over 90 known components in colostrum. The primary components are divided into  immune factors and growth factors.

Colostrum’s Immune Factors
    Immune Factors in colostrum have been shown to help the body fight off harmful invaders such as viruses, bacteria, yeast and fungus. Each factor plays a specific role in our body’s defense against these attackers. In addition, colostrum contains over 20 antibodies to specific pathogens including E coli, salmonella, rotavirus, candida, streptococcus, staphylococcus, H pylori, and cryptosporidia.

    In addition to immunoglobulins, medical studies show that the Proline-Rich Polypeptide (PRP) in colostrum also supports an under active immune system. PRP also helps balance an overactive immune system present in autoimmune diseases.

Colostrum’s Growth Factors
    Growth Factors help build and restore bone, muscle, nerve tissue, connective tissue, skin and cartilage. These factors have also been shown to help increase lean muscle, help the body burn fat for fuel, and assist in wound healing. Growth factors have also been shown to help slow the signs of aging!



MANUFACTURING
Immuron's Hyper-Immunized Colostrum (IHC) is manufactured only from the first milking (< 12 hours) after calving and from selected multiparous animals, ensuring high levels of protective antibodies. Each cow’s secretion is individually collected into a plastic bladder via our patented collection system. This collected volume is then immediately frozen, awaiting quality control. If the product meets our standards, the colostrum milk is defatted and processed according to Immuron's proprietary technology.

It is then freeze-dried to ensure the highest quality and preservation of biological activity of antibodies and colostral growth factors.

IHC is the only product made using these high quality techniques.  High temperature spray drying commonly used in the dairy industry is known to damage heat sensitive biological factors present in colostrum. Freeze-drying on the other hand is known to preserve fragile biologicals and it is used exclusively in the production of quality pharmaceutical products. Freeze-drying is more costly and time consuming than spray drying but delivers the highest quality product.

SOURCE OF COLOSTRUM
IHC's is manufactured from colostrum obtained from dairy cows at Australian Government registered Dairy Farms. These Farms are used for production of milk for human consumption and have to comply with all relevant Government Health Regulations.

HEALTH STATUS OF ANIMALS
The dairy cows are maintained under Veterinary supervision and certified healthy. Australia is declared free of major animal diseases such as Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), Bovine Tuberculosis (BTB), Brucellosis and Rabies.
